well Sophie yes my goodness you're not having to run around the kitchen well ain't problematic well this is this is wonderful the dried fruits that we're about to do is something that you know I think kids my kids should really be getting into it not only Debbie's getting into it why should we why should we dry our own for us rather than buy them in the grocery store well number one you save money but number two it was store-bought have a lot of additives often and so let's look at this label here these are cranberries and if we come in nice and close to the label right here cranberries and sugar so you want and I've seen it on bananas and mangos you only want the fruit that's all you want to see on an ingredient list the other thing right here that's coming close to this label preservatives sulfur dioxide this preserves the color but a lot of people are allergic to sulfur dioxide so again you make it at home you know what's in it you don't don't worry about any of that all right let's start with our strawberries all right so the strawberry crisps are you enjoying them guys the strawberry girl good all right so the reason I love doing strawberries is that when you write strawberries out of season you know how they can be tasteless watery yes when you dry fruit it really intensifies the flavor so it tastes like the best strawberry of ever tasting right so what I do is I very thinly slice them SuperDuper easy I use organic strawberries because as of this year or strawberries of the most pesticide ed crop the most heavily pesticide a crop so make sure at home they're organic and then what I'm gonna do is just place them on a baking sheet parchment lined baking sheet and then you want to put it in the oven at 175 degrees a very low oven for about seven hours you could use a dehydrator this is an inexpensive one they run from sort of $30.00 and up so you that's an option as well are you ready guys yes all right right yeah the flavor of the strawberries intensified them I can understand why they put added sugar in it there's a lovely tartness exactly need to be sweetness yeah lovely in the mouth and then you see everyone's eating like that because I have a wee yoghurt can i without a without yeah you could get these ok if you're going on a road trip this Jana I mean a great great snack now I'm making most personally we travel to Dollywood right like that's a great question Deanna you can keep them for a long time for up to six month in the sealed sealed bag so it's a great way to preserve all right now the next one we're going for so I love I know you love sun-dried tomatoes and they're expensive so this is a great way of making them inexpensively and preserving if you have a big huge harvest this year right so this is what I do I get roma tomatoes and then I cut them like so that should be a little spoon is a little spoon under that Christina thank you that's what I need like so I cut them lengthwise into quarters then I remove the seeds I prefer to do this with a spoon again I get it right yes although you know strawberries yes tomatoes you not you don't have to have them all gasp about tomatoes I have no idea what you're talking about martyr right you're going to lay them on a baking sheet we're going to put on a few Italian herbs herbs a little bit of sea salt me how to walk we're gonna put it 175 degrees low oven for about 10 hours an hour this takes a little bit longer you ready everybody else de-yummy looks like bacon not using here's the thing that I absolutely love to do I get some olive oil and then I store them in the olive oil so you get exactly what you're getting at the store but for about quarter of the price yeah yes I put them in scrambled eggs and pasta salad yes oh okay and then finally I just wanted to show you that you can also do bananas which are my absolute favorite little banana chat honors in pyjamas empanada some dramas and then I make my own a trail mix mark for you for the kids road trip everybody this summer I will substitute bananas oh you what yeah with what manners Oh all right so bananas and the recipe for the trail mix is on the website
